A signal detection device for a receiver according to the present invention uses the FTN (Faster than Nyquist) transmission method for receiving a signal row that passed through a transmission filter for a transmitter and a receive filter for a receiver and performs QR decomposition of a filter coefficient matrix made of coefficients for transmission and receiver filters into a normal orthogonal matrix and a upper triangular matrix and then removes components of the normal orthogonal matrix from the received signal row and detects the transmission signals by removing components of the upper triangular matrix corresponding to the filter coefficients components consecutively from each of detected symbol components of the signal row where the normal orthogonal matrix components are removed from.
