The present invention relates to an electric rice cooker and a method for setting and selecting the bookmark thereof. An electric rice cooker according to the present invention comprises: a user input unit which corresponds to the functions of a bookmark menu; a display unit which displays the functions of the bookmark menu; a memory unit which stores the functions of selecting a typical menu and the functions of the bookmark menu; and a control unit which, if the function of the bookmark menu is set via the user input, stores the same in the memory unit, if the function of the bookmark menu is inputted via the user input unit, reads the same which is stored in the memory unit and displays the same on the display unit, and controls an heater unit according to the menu selected via the user input unit, thereby allowing users to set the bookmark menu via the keys and jog dial on the user interface panel of the electric rice cooker.
