A method, an apparatus, and a system for encoding and decoding an image are disclosed. The present invention comprises an intra prediction unit for receiving an input image, calculating a correlation between a brightness area block and a saturation area block in the input image when an intra prediction is performed, low-pass filtering a pixel value of the brightness area block in which the encoding is completed according to the calculated correlation to remove a high frequency component, and then applying an LMChroma Mode, which is an expansion chroma mode scheme, with respect to the pixel value of the brightness area block in which the high frequency component is removed to generate a prediction block of a saturation area.
