PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which is able to detect abnormality caused by an ink sheet when the ink sheet is peeled from a printed medium. ! SOLUTION: A printer includes a thermal head 11 and an ink sheet, transfers photographic paper and the ink sheet while sandwiching the photographic paper and the ink sheet, and transfers an ink of the ink sheet to the photographic paper to make prints. Further, the pinter includes: a peeling roller 16 for peeling the ink sheet from the photographic paper; a gear 4 which rotates in conjunction with rotations of the peeling roller 16; a rotary member 3 which rotates in conjunction with rotations of the gear 4; and a speed detection sensor 12 which detects a rotation speed of the rotary member 3. !
