The present invention discloses a Wi-Fi system-based method and device for establishing a link between stations, belonging to the technical field of communications. The method comprises: a source access device receiving a discovery request sent by a source station; if it is determined that the destination station and the source station are not associated with the same access device, then a preset database being queried according to the destination station identifier to obtain a destination access device associated with said destination station; if upon querying said preset database, a collaborative relationship is determined to exist with said destination access device, then the source access device forwarding the discovery request to the destination access device; if the source access device receives an establishment request sent by the source station and an establishment response sent by the destination station, then obtaining direct link resource information; sending the direct link resource information to the source station and destination station. The present invention initiates by means of a preset database the process of establishing a direct link, and has a wide range of applications.
