DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF NEAR NET-SHAPE TIAL COMPONENTS

The invention relates to a device for producing TiAl components, particularly by near net-shape casting of γ-TiAl alloys. The device comprises a smelting chamber (2) which is closed off to the atmosphere, may be fully evacuated, and is designed to build an inert gas atmosphere. A smelting crucible (5) which consists of a thermally-conductive metal is arranged inside the smelting chamber (2). Said smelting crucible (5) can be manipulated in the x, y and z directions, and can be tipped about a rotational axis R. A mould is arranged relative to the smelting crucible (5) such that TiAl melted in said smelting crucible (5) can be poured directly into said mould. A precision casting mould (7) is arranged inside said mould, and this shapes the contours of the TiAl component being produced. The invention also relates to a method for producing TiAl components using such a device.
