<p>The present invention relates to a method for supporting full dimension (FD) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) in a multiple antenna system including eight antenna ports, four in a horizontal domain and four in a vertical domain. An apparatus comprises a codebook having unitary properties, wherein the code book is based on DFT beam vectors, and uses all possible orthogonal beams, and the same number of orthogonal beams is included among code words based on layer mapping of the code words. According to the present invention, a code book optimized for two dimensional beamforming or FD MIMO can be provided to improve system throughput, in realizing MIMO operation with eight transmitting antenna ports, which can be realized in the next-generation mobile communications system.</p> |
