Dust-proof apparatus and fiber optic connector assembly

A dust-proof apparatus (200) for a fiber optic connector (100), comprising: a base (4); a sleeve (5) provided on one side of the base and configured to receive a ferrule (2) of the fiber optic connector when the dust-proof apparatus is mounted on the fiber optic connector; two primary cantilevers (6) extending substantially in parallel from the base at both sides of the sleeve and configured to hold the dust-proof apparatus on the fiber optic connector; and an auxiliary cantilever (8) extending from the base and provided with a through hole (81), a key (34) formed on a housing of the fiber optic connector being able to be inserted into the through hole. The dust- proof apparatus can be stably held on the fiber optic connector due to the auxiliary cantilever and has a ring (7) for fixing a rope or hook, so that the fiber optic connector can be pulled to pass through a passage by pulling the ring of the dust-proof apparatus.
