PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To authenticate a user through an easy operation using a portable terminal without registering user identification information in a plurality of image formation devices respectively.SOLUTION: A portable terminal 2 acquires information for authentication including characteristic information on an image formation device 1 and address information on an authentication server 3 from the image formation device 1, and transmits an authentication request including the characteristic information on the image formation device 1 and user identification information stored in the portable terminal 2 to the authentication server 3 according to the address information on the authentication server 3. The authentication server 3 performs user authentication by comparing the user identification information included in the authentication request with a previously registered user identification information list, and transmits authentication permission information to the image formation device 1 based upon the characteristic information on the image formation device 1 when permitting the user authentication. The image formation device 1 shifts to a usable state according to the authentication permission information. |
