PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an isolator that costs less to manufacture because of a simple overall configuration. ! SOLUTION: The isolator comprises: a modulation section 10 for receiving a signal to be transmitted, using it as a modulation signal to modulate a carrier, and outputting a modulated signal; a surface acoustic wave transmission section 12 for receiving the modulated signal from an input electrode, modulating it to a surface acoustic wave and transmitting it to an output electrode, and outputting a modulated signal from the output electrode; and a demodulation section 11 for demodulating the modulated signal output from the output electrode and outputting the signal to be transmitted. !
