A photographing optical lens assembly includes five lens elements with refractive power, in order from an object side to an image side. The first lens element with refractive power has a convex object-side surface. The second lens element with positive refractive power has an object-side surface and an image-side surface both being aspheric. The third lens element has positive refractive power. The fourth lens element with refractive power has a concave object-side surface. The fifth lens element with refractive power has an object-side surface and a concave image-side surface with at least one inflection point, both the object-side surface and the image-side surface being aspheric.

1. A photographing optical lens assembly comprising, in order from an object side to an image side:
a first lens element with refractive power having an object-side surface being convex; a second lens element with positive refractive power having an object-side surface and an image-side surface being both aspheric; a third lens element with positive refractive power; a fourth lens element with refractive power having an object-side surface being concave; and a fifth lens element with refractive power having an image-side surface being concave, the image-side surface of the fifth lens element having at least one inflection point, and an object-side surface and the image-side surface of the fifth lens element being both aspheric; wherein the photographing optical lens assembly has five lens elements with refractive powers, f2 is the focal length of the second lens element, f3 is the focal length of the third lens element, and the following condition is satisfied:
