The invention relates to a method and a plant for producing extrusion billets from scrap obtained from stamping, cutting and/or machining processes, in particular scrap made of magnesium or magnesium alloys, without subjecting the scrap to a melting process. The plant for carrying out said method essentially consists of a storage unit (1) for the scrap, a device (2) for comminuting the scrap, a press (3) for producing a round bar (7), and an extruder (5) for shaping the round bar (7) into an extrusion billet (6). |
