The present invention provides a mobile terminal comprising: a terminal body having a display unit formed on a surface thereof; a cover that is coupled to the terminal body to switch between a closed state of covering the display unit and an open state of exposing the display unit, and includes at least one magnet causing a magnetic property to change according to the switching between the closed state and the open state; a sensor unit disposed in the terminal body to correspond to the magnet and formed to detect the magnetic property change; and a controller that controls the display unit to output screen information related to a preset application on the basis of the magnetic property change of the at least one magnet. |
