PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor driving device that commands a step-up voltage of a step-up converter so as to minimize present and future losses of a motor driving system.SOLUTION: On the basis of a current rotation speed ω and a torque command Trqof an MG (AC motor), current loss estimation means 33 of step-up command generation means 321 estimates a power loss of any one or more of a battery, a step-up converter, an inverter and the MG at the present. On the basis of a rotation speed estimate ω_est estimated by future rotation speed prediction means 34 and future torque prediction means 35 and a torque estimate Trq_est, future loss estimation means 36 predicts an operational status of the MG at a prediction time point a predetermined period after from the present and estimates a power loss of any one or more of the battery, the step-up converter, the inverter and the MG at the prediction time point.
