<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for efficiently producing ethanol from a saccharified liquid derived from cellulosic biomass, by producing a yeast mutant strain to which resistance is imparted to fermentation inhibition with the saccharified liquid produced by the cellulosic biomass.SOLUTION: Provided are a yeast mutant strain, i.e., CTM-2 strain, to which resistance to ethanol and fermentation inhibitors is imparted and which is obtained by mutation induction treatment to Scheffersomyces stipitis and treatment for acclimatizing a mutant yeast strain to clotrimazole and ethanol, and methods for producing ethanol with the use of a saccharified liquid derived from biomass by using the obtained yeast mutant strain CTM-2, wherein the mutant yeast strain has not only ethanol resistance but also furfural resistance and vanillin resistance.</p> |
