A method of handling a direct drive wind turbine blade during construction, maintenance or decommissioning of a direct drive wind turbine involves the use a lifting device for lifting the blade of a rotational system. The rotational system is rotated using a jog assembly. To block rotation, the jog assembly comprises blocking means. The blade is attached/removed when the rotational system is at the desired orientation. The invention also covers a direct drive wind turbine assembly. |
