The present invention relates to a forklift and a forklift control method. The forklift and the forklift control method according to the present invention can adjust the inclination of a fork/mast by referring to the coefficient of friction and also can adjust the inclination of the fork/mast properly in advance by referring to geographical information right before the forklift enters or exits from a slope. Moreover, when the degree of danger is not lowered despite the fork/mast being inclined backward maximally, the driving velocity of the vehicle is reduced and the risk of falling of a load can be reduced greatly by reducing the output of the forklift or operating a brake. The forklift according to the present invention comprises: a forklift operated by hydraulic pressure output by a hydraulic pressure system; a fork for mounting a load or a pallet; a mast for raising or lowering the fork; a tilting actuator for adjusting the inclination of the mast; an input part for inputting the weight of a load, the inclination of the forklift, the inclination of the mast with respect to the forklift, the acceleration of the forklift, geographical information on a driving path and the coefficient of static friction between the fork and the pallet; and a control part for calculating the risk of falling of a load by calculating the static friction of a load and a net force applied on the load. |
