Provided are a silicon oxide-carbon composite, a method for preparing the same, and an energy storage device having the same. According to the present invention, the method for preparing the silicon oxide-carbon composite comprises the steps of: providing a reaction solution having an aromatic compound-containing organic solvent; forming a crystalline carbon structure by generating a plasma in the reaction solution; preparing a slurry by adding silicon halide and polyol in the reaction solution having the crystalline carbon structure dispersed therein; and separating the slurry from the organic solvent in order to thermal-process the same.
