PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for shortening the rotor blade of a turbo machine by removing material at the leading end of a blade, which is more excellent in cost-effectiveness than grinding or milling work by a direct acting type grinding disc, and a belt type grinding apparatus for executing said method.SOLUTION: A rotor blade 2 to be machine-worked and a parting connection part 12 of the casing of a turbo machine 3 are at least partially exposed, and a rotor disk having said rotor blade 2 attached thereto is continuously rotated while keeping the state, in which said rotor blade 2 is mounted in said casing. The rotor blade 2 is shortened by removing the material at the leading end of the blade by a belt type grinding device 1 fitted on said parting connection part 12 by a fitting device. |
