PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions and methods useful for delivery including transdermal delivery of biologically active agents, such as non-protein non-nucleoside therapeutics and protein-based therapeutics excluding insulin, botulinum toxins, antibody fragments, and VEGF.SOLUTION: The invention provides compositions comprising biologically active protein, a polymeric backbone linked to a positively charged branching group, and a carrier which exists in an effective amount in a transdermal delivery, in which a linkage of the carrier and the biologically active protein is a non-covalent linkage; and methods of using the compositions. These compositions and methods are particularly useful for a topical delivery of antifungal agents and antigenic agents suitable for immunization. Alternatively, the compositions can be prepared together with useful components for targeting delivery of these compositions and imaging components. |
