PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight and enhance strength in a bell cup for a rotary atomizer.SOLUTION: A bell cup for a rotary atomizer comprises: a molded base body 4; and functional elements 5 and 6 for increasing mechanical strength of a coating machine component 1 and/or for enhancing a chemical and/or electrical and/or frictional function, where the functional elements 5 and 6 are constituted of material having greater mass density than that of the base body 4. The functional elements 5 and 6 are coating 5 and 6 that are applied to at least a part of the base body 4. Furthermore, the invention relates to a corresponding production method.
