PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video image reception device that allows a take-over of a recording device to be facilitated via an IP network, and to provide a management server and video image distribution system that are connected to the video image reception device. ! SOLUTION: A video image reception device comprises: a recording device collation unit that collates a user ID stored in a recording device with an own user ID and a device ID stored in the recording device with an own device ID; and an inquiry unit that, when the recording device collation unit determines that the user ID stored in the recording device matches the own user ID, and the device ID stored in the recording device is different from the own device ID, transmits the user ID, the device ID stored in the recording device, and the own device ID to a management server connected via a network and thereby inquires for whether to allow for a use of the recording device. !
