PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable access to a device from within a unit having a built-in device even after another unit is connected to the unit having the built-in device. ! SOLUTION: When an expansion unit 103 is connected to a basic unit 101 that includes a device 107, an application execution unit 102 accessing the device 107, and a first path running from the application execution unit 102 to the device 107, a backend driver switching unit 117 and a device I/F switching unit 115 switch the path, through which the application execution unit 102 accesses the device 107, from the first path to an alternate path running from the application execution unit 102 via the expansion unit 103 to the device 107. !
