PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use the same stator parts for gas or liquid cooling. ! SOLUTION: An electrical device comprises a housing 20 having a plurality of cooling fins 24, and a laminated magnetic stack 16A. The plurality of cooling fins are located in a central portion along an exterior surface 20B of the housing, and the laminated magnetic stack is disposed within the central portion of the housing and interfacing with an interior surface 20A of the housing. The plurality of cooling fins are alternately higher and smaller on an inlet manifold and in opposition on an outlet manifold, and all the higher cooling fins have a same height for supporting a cover plate 26. The cover plate resting on the higher cooling fins has an inlet hole 26A receiving liquid cooling from the inlet manifold and an outlet hole 26B delivering the liquid cooling to the outlet manifold, and creates a liquid cooling path between higher and smaller cooling fins from the inlet hole to the outlet hole. !
