Provided is a method and an apparatus for transmitting a random access preamble in a time division duplex (TDD)-based wireless communication system. A wireless device selects an UL subframe in which a random access preamble is to be transmitted in a first serving cell. If the next subframe following the selected UL subframe is a DL subframe and the length of the random access preamble exceeds the UL subframe, the random access preamble may be generated such that the length of the random access preamble may not exceed the UL subframe.

1. A method for transmitting a random access preamble in a time division duplex (TDD)-based wireless communication system, the method comprising:
configuring, by a wireless device, a first serving cell to which a first uplink (UL)-downlink (DL) configuration is applied and a second serving cell to which a second UL-DL configuration is applied; selecting, by the wireless device, a UL subframe in which the random access preamble is to be transmitted in the first serving cell; if at least one of a next subframe of the selected UL subframe in the first serving cell and a subframe of the second serving cell is a DL subframe and if a length of the random access preamble exceeds a range of the UL subframe, generating the random access preamble within the range of the UL subframe; and transmitting, by the wireless device, the generated random access preamble in the UL subframe of the first serving cell.
