<p>Abstract A sparger 10 for injecting a first fluid into a volume of a second fluid. The 5 sparger 10 comprises a first body 12 having an inlet 14 for receiving a supply of the first fluid under pressure and an outlet 16. The sparger 10 also comprises a second body 18 adapted to be mechanically coupled to the first body 12 adjacent the outlet 16, as well as first and second lip seals 20 provided in connection with the first and second bodies 12 and 18 10 respectively. When the first and second bodies 12 and 18 are coupled together the first and second lip seals 20 engage in a sealing relationship so as to form a fluid chamber 22 surrounding the outlet 16. In use, when the pressure of the first fluid in the fluid chamber 22 exceeds a predetermined value a thin film of the first fluid is injected into the second fluid from between 15 the lip seals 20.
