PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of plate attached to a side wall of a terminal member, thereby reducing material costs of the plate.SOLUTION: A method for plating a terminal member 1 comprises: attaching the terminal member 1 to a jig 11; and then supplying a plating solution to a terminal 2 that is located at the tip of the terminal member 1 through an opening 13 formed on the jig 11 to form plate, where a side wall member 31 made from an insulating material is provided around the opening 13 along the side surface of the terminal 2, and the plate is formed on the tip of the terminal 2. The adhesion of the plate onto the side surface of the terminal 2 can be prevented by providing the side wall member 31.
