Provided is a rectilinear reciprocating motion device using an electric drill, the rectilinear reciprocating motion device converting the rotation of the electric drill into a rectilinear reciprocating motion using a simple structure. A rectilinear reciprocating motion device has: a spindle (30) capable of being mounted to and dismounted from an electric drill (20) and provided with a male thread section (30a) at the intermediate position thereof; a nut (40) provided with a female thread section (40a) engaging with the male thread section through threads; a movable body (41) joined to the nut so as to be integral therewith; a spindle holder (35) covering and connecting to the front end portion of the spindle; an affixation device (80) having one end engaged with the electric drill and the other end joined to the spindle holder and preventing the spindle holder and the movable body from rotating together with the spindle; a first elastic member (61) for pressing the female thread section toward the male thread section when the male thread section is located closer to the electric drill than the female thread section; a second elastic member (62) for pressing the female thread section toward the male thread section when the female thread section is located closer to the electric drill than the male thread section; a first working section (51) mounted to the movable body; and a second working section (52) mounted to the spindle holder.
