The present invention provides a planar light-emitting unit by which it is possible to mitigate uneven luminance. A planar light-emitting unit (1) is provided with: planar light-emitting panels (10A, 10B) emitting light; a transmissive member (16) disposed facing light-emitting surfaces, the transmissive member (16) internally reflecting light radiated from the planar light-emitting panels and propagating the light therein, and being capable of radiating the light from a light-radiating surface; and a scattering sheet (18) provided facing a light-radiating surface (22) of the transmissive member and scattering light. The transmissive member (16) has a light-reducing surface (17) provided between a light-incident surface (21) on which light radiated from the planar light-emitting panels is incident and the light-radiating surface (22). The light-emitting surfaces have light-emitting regions (14A, 14B) for radiating light and non-light-emitting regions (15A, 15B) from which light is not radiated. The light-reducing surface (17) is configured such that the light transmittance thereof in the regions facing the non-light-emitting regions differs from the light transmittance thereof in the regions facing the light-emitting regions according to the distribution of light radiated from each of the planar light-emitting panels. |
