Provided are an array substrate and manufacturing method thereof, and a display device. The array substrate comprises: a thin film transistor (TFT), an isolation layer (M), a pixel electrode (12) and a via hole (Q) penetrating the isolation layer (14). A drain electrode (6) of the TFT and the pixel electrode (12) are electrically connected to each other through the via hole (Q), a first shading layer (14a) being formed on the pixel electrode (12) in the via hole (Q). By forming a shading layer on the pixel electrode in the via hole, the array substrate of the present invention avoids degradation of the display effect caused by reflection of external light on the pixel electrode in the via hole region; in addition, forming a blocking layer before making a shading layer ensures no residue of the shading layer will be left on a substrate while making the shading layer, improving the display performance of a display device.
