PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for decomposition and/or removal of an odor material.SOLUTION: Provided is the method for decomposition and/or removal of an odor material. The method includes a step for decomposing and/or removing the odor material by bringing hypochlorite solution into contact to the odor material. The hypochlorite solution includes sodium hypochlorite and/or potassium hypochlorite by 350 ppm or more in terms of effective chlorite concentration, and has pH within a range of 3.0-5.5 or 8-10, and is saturated by sodium chloride and/or potassium chloride.
