PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle control device capable of improving responsiveness of engine start when an engine start request is made during EV traveling.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle control device comprising a transverse engine, a motor/generator, a first clutch, and a belt-type continuously variable transmission, includes: a hybrid control module which is engine start control means for starting a transverse engine when an engine start request is made from an EV mode; and a hybrid control module which is difference rotation calculation means for calculating a difference rotation between the transverse engine and the motor/generator having the first clutch therebetween. If it is determined that the difference rotation is larger than a predetermined difference rotation when the engine start request is made during EV traveling, the up-shift as well as the engine start are performed. |
