PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver unit, a receiving method, a control system and a control method capable of controlling a linkage application of receiver unit control function from broadcasting side.SOLUTION: The receiver unit 20 includes: an application engine 32 that receives a piece of application control information relevant to a linkage application which is capable of being executed when a content is received and executes the linkage application to change the layout of a screen while referring to images of the received content; and an application control section 30 that controls the application engine 32 based on the application control information to restrict the operation of the linkage application.
