PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermochromic ink contained thermochromic writing utensil capable of easily changing color of a thermochromic handwriting with friction and capable of rapidly attaining a writable state (a pen-point projected state) or a stored state (a pen-point retracted state) even when only one hand can be used.SOLUTION: A thermochromic ink contained thermochromic writing utensil is configured such that it includes: a writing body 8 containing thermochromic ink within it; a barrel 2 containing the writing body 8 to be movable back and forth within it; an elastic body 7 for actuating the writing body 8 to a back side of the barrel 2; an operation part 5 for making a pen-point 81 of the writing body 8 appear outside or disappear inside through a front end hole 31 in the barrel 2; and a friction part 4 capable of rubbing a handwriting with the thermochromic ink to thermally change color of the handwriting with frictional heat generated at that time. The friction part 4 is made of low-friction elastic material generating fewer friction chips than an eraser when rubbing the handwriting, the friction part 4 is provided on a front end part of the barrel 2 and the operation part 5 is provided on a part other than the front end part of the barrel 2.
