FLAME DETECTOR AND FLAME DETECTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect flame with high accuracy in various installation environments including various erroneous detection factors.SOLUTION: A flame detector includes: an image memory (10) for storing time-series images and a reference image; and a flame detection part (30) for performing extraction processing of a feature amount on the basis of the time-series images for one cycle and determining the occurrence of flame. The flame detection part calculates a feature amount indicating that respective positions of the center of gravity in flame candidate areas extracted for respective frames on the basis of a background difference image and a time-series difference image transition with monotonous increase or monotonous decrease. When the feature amount is a predetermined value or greater, no flame is determined to occur due to the presence of a moving body that rectilinearly moves in the flame candidate area.
