PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical battery effectively preventing a short circuit between a positive electrode and a negative electrode, without causing defects such as heat generation even if being erroneously loaded. ! SOLUTION: A cylindrical battery 1 includes a ring-like positive electrode mixture 20, a bottomed cylindrical separator 30 disposed at an inner side of the positive electrode mixture, and a negative electrode gel 40 disposed at an inner side of the separator 30, which are housed in a bottomed cylindrical battery can 10, while a negative electrode terminal plate 60 is fitted into an opening 10a of the battery can 10 via a sealing gasket 70. The sealing gasket 70 includes: a boss part 71 projected in a hollow-cylindrical manner in a vertical direction at the center of a disc; and a disc part 72 extending outwardly in a radial direction from the boss part.
