<p>The invention relates to a method for reducing impulse noise (IN) in telecommunication systems by extending the receiver band. The fundamental principle of this method consists in extending the receiver band, i.e. adding more bandwidth to the receiver than that which is strictly necessary in order to demodulate the signal desired to be received. Subsequently, the impulse noise is reduced by eliminating the samples that exceed a certain amplitude threshold. The method is advantageous in that by receiving more bandwidth of the impulse noise, said noise is easier to detect and the elimination thereof in said extended band is less detrimental to the signal desired to be received.</p> |
