PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for control of fish parasites, particularly Cryptocaryon irritans.SOLUTION: The invention provides a method for control of fish parasites comprising administering a folic acid synthesis inhibitor and/or folate activation inhibitor to a fish continuously for one to two weeks in a daily dosage amount of 1-50 mg/kg of fish weight. A mixture of the folic acid synthesis inhibitor and the folate activation inhibitor is preferable, as a folic acid synthesis inhibitor, sulfa drugs are preferable, as a folate activation inhibitor, a dihydrofolate reductase inhibitor, a folic acid antagonist, and the like can be used, the parasiticide concerned can control the fish parasites by oral administration, and the method for control of fish parasites is effective particularly to parasites belonging to ciliates among fish parasites. |
