PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead storage battery superior in idling stop life performance and regeneration acceptance.SOLUTION: A negative electrode plate for lead storage batteries comprises a negative electrode active material including spongy lead and barium sulphate, and filled in a grid. The barium sulphate includes particles, of which particles having a primary particle size of 10 μm or less account for preferably 95% or more based on the volume frequency of the particles. The particles having primary particle size of 10 μm or less includes: a first particle group of particles having an average primary particle size of 0.3-0.9 μm; and a second particle group of particles having an average primary particle size of 2-5 μm. The first particle group accounts for 28-72% to the total amount of the barium sulphate based on the volume frequency of the particles. |
