PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control system that suppresses an accident occurring when a vehicle whose driver enters a driving disabled state goes out of control, and makes it possible to immediately perform a lifesaving activity for the driver.SOLUTION: When acute emergency information is transmitted from a driving disabled vehicle VE, a vehicle VC that is traveling on the same road receives the acute emergency information, acts as a leading vehicle VR, determines a joining position PJN, and transmits the joining position to the driving disabled vehicle VE. The driving disabled vehicle VE and leading vehicle VR join at the joining position PJN. The leading vehicle VR is driven to lead a column, and the driving disabled vehicle VE is driven to follow the column, whereby the vehicles are moved to a final halt position PDST, and brought to a halt. Since the vehicles are run in a column, the driving disabled vehicle VE is prevented from going out of control. If the final halt position PDST is set to a position in the vicinity of a medical institute, a lifesaving activity can be immediately performed for the driver who has been disabled from driving. |
