摘要 [Problem] To provide an acrylic copolymer having superior transparency, heat resistance, and flexibility and having low photoelastic birefringence and oriented birefringence when formed into a film shape. Also, to provide: a biaxially oriented film comprising the acrylic copolymer; and a liquid crystal display device and polarizing plate provided with the biaxially oriented film. [Solution] The acrylic copolymer comprises, as constituent units, 3-22 mass% inclusive of an N-alkylmaleimide unit, 74-87 mass% inclusive of an alkyl (meth)acrylate unit, and 1-11 mass% inclusive of a benzyl (meth)acrylate unit, and the weight average molecular weight of the acrylic copolymer is 0.5×105 to 2.6×105 inclusive.
