<p>A vehicular brake system 10 includes a master cylinder 34 that moves pistons 40a, 40b forward by a push rod 42 linked with a brake pedal 12 to generate fluid pressure, a motor cylinder device 16 that electrically generates fluid pressure in accordance with an operated level of the brake pedal 12, and a drive unit 200; (200a, figures 5-7); (200b, figures 8-10); (200c, figures 11 & 12) that moves a cylinder tube 38 of a housing 39 in the master cylinder 34 which retains the pistons 40a, 40h toward the push rod 42 to eliminate a gap G in the axial direction.
