A ball or roller bearing mounting comprises a cylinder 2, the wall of which is formed with a slit 5, extending over substantially half the circumference of the cylinder, and an axial slit 4 disposed centrally of the circumferential slit so as to form two mutually opposed arms, each extending over approximately one quadrant of the cylinder. A collar 7 is disposed around the cylinder and is tightened to deform the arms to adapt the diameter of the cylinder to that of the bearing located therein. The cylinder 2 is integral with a base plate 1. In a modification, shown in Fig. 5, the collar 7 has circumferential flanges 7A, 7B.</p> |
