FIELD: printing.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a toner for developing a latent electrostatic image formed by an electrophotographic method, a method of electrostatic recording and a method of electrostatic printing, and to the image forming device. The claimed group of inventions consists of a toner and also an image forming device and a process cartridge which comprise the aforesaid toner. At that the toner comprises toner particles each of which comprises a toner base particle and a surface additive fixed on it, at that the toner base particle comprises a binder resin and a colorant, and each of the toner base particle has protrusions on its surface, the average value of lengths of the long sides of the protrusions is 0.10 mcm or more but less than 0.50 mcm, the standard deviation of the lengths of the long sides of the protrusions is 0.2 or less, the degree of coverage with the protrusions of the surface of the toner base particle is from 10% to 90%, and the surface additive comprises fine inorganic particles which surfaces were treated with the silane coupling agent containing an amino group.EFFECT: obtaining a toner which does not contaminate a charging unit, a developing unit, a photoconductor, and an intermediate transfer element, which can form a high quality image having a proper optical density which background blurring is much less even after repeated printing over a long period of time, and which can stably form an image with high reproducibility on any medium for recording without including spots or speckles due to scattering; and an image forming device using the toner.11 cl, 7 dwg, 2 tbl |
