摘要 Provided is an electrostatic precipitator that does not require a large-capacity extraction device when collecting a PM, demonstrates high dust collection performance which is free from clogging or re-entrainment under high-blowing-rate conditions, and has a low probability of malfunctioning. The apparatus includes a plate-shaped electrode (20) having formed therein a plurality of through holes that allow the PM to pass therethrough; a discharge electrode (30) disposed to face one surface of the plate-shaped electrode; a discharge generating unit that applies a voltage between the plate-shaped electrode and the discharge electrode and generates an electric discharge imparting a Coulomb force to the PM; a collection region that is formed on an opposite side of the plate-shaped electrode to a surface thereof facing the discharge electrode and collects the PM; a gas flow-through region (33) that is formed between the plate-shaped electrode and the discharge electrode and allows a PM-containing gas to flow therethrough; and a PM recovery unit (50) that causes a recovery gas to flow through in the collection region in a direction crossing the flow-through direction of the PM-containing gas and strips away and recovers the collected PM in a flow-through state of the PM-containing gas.
