<p>A system and a method for recognizing a license plate are disclosed. The system comprises: a black box device photographing an outer image to generate video data; a user terminal which reads and transmits vehicle license plate information on a vehicle license area included in a frame image corresponding to the video data; and police server which receives the vehicle license information from the user terminal, searches vehicle information corresponding to the vehicle license plate information in a server storing part, generates research result information corresponding to the searched vehicle information, and transmits the generated research result information to the user terminal. The system and the method for recognizing a license plate allows automatic recognition of the vehicle license plate and researching vehicle information through a connection with the black box device included in a police car, and a smartphone that a policeman carries. Therefore, various tasks such as the effective prevention of crimes, vehicle regulation or the like may be performed by using the system with low costs.</p> |
