<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tire tread capable of obtaining excellent on-ice performance. <P>SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tire tread includes 100 pts.mass diene-based rubber blended with 0.5-20 pts.mass maifansi powder. Also, provided is a pneumatic tire having tread using the rubber composition. The average particle size of the maifansi powder is preferably 10-200μm.
