A method of modifying an aperture (105) in a component (101), a system for modifying flow through a component (101), and a turbine component (101) are disclosed. The method includes providing a substrate (102) having at least one aperture (105) having an electrically-conductive surface (107), providing a deposition device including a electrospark deposition (ESD) torch (104), the ESD torch (104) including an aperture (105) penetrating electrode (106) including a conductive material (107), inserting the aperture (105) penetrating electrode (106) at least partially into the aperture (105), and generating an arc between the aperture (105) penetrating electrode (106) and the electrically-conductive surface (107) to deposit electrode material (111) within the aperture (105). The system includes the ESD torch (104) removably supported in an electrode holder. The turbine component (101) includes at least one aperture (105) having an electrospark deposited material along an electrically-conductive surface, the electrospark deposited material providing modified fluid flow through the turbine component (101). |
