A method of manufacturing a hollow aerofoil component (100) for a gas turbine engine (10) comprises using a capping panel (200) to cover a pocket in a pocketed aerofoil body (300). An activation material (400) is placed between the capping panel (200) and the pocketed aerofoil body (300), and the temperature of the assembly (500) is raised to a bonding temperature. The capping panel (200) and pocketed aerofoil assembly (300) are thereby joined together using activated diffusion bonding to form the hollow aerofoil component (100). |
