An ultrasound therapy transducer head comprising: an ultrasound source configured to emit ultrasonic radiation, said ultrasound source comprising a plurality of transducer elements; integrated driving electronics coupled to said transducer elements, said electronics configured to generate at least one output ultrasound waveform and drive at least some of said transducer elements independently based on said at least one output ultrasound waveform; a heat exchanger comprising coolant that is circulated within said transducer head to provide cooling at least for said electronics; and an acoustic power sensor adjacent said ultrasound source and spaced from said transducer elements so that ultrasound radiation emitted by said ultrasound source passes through said acoustic power sensor before exiting said transducer head, said acoustic power sensor configured to sense individually the acoustic power of ultrasound radiation emitted by each transducer element, and generate for each transducer element, an output representative of the acoustic power of ultrasound radiation emitted thereby.
